Role Descriptions:
President
He or she serves as the authority on all association rules and governing documents and appoints committees if dictated by the bylaws. The president also leads community and association meetings, handling such responsibilities as calling the meeting to order, announcing the agenda, and ensuring adherence, maintaining attendee order and decorum, proposing questions, calling for votes and announcing the results, and recognizing others to speak on the floor.
Vice President
The HOA vice president, in simple terms, assumes the role of president when, for any reason, the latter is unable to. In that case, the VP fulfills the president’s responsibilities. Of course, the vice president can only exercise these powers in the president’s absence. Other HOA vice president duties can vary depending on the association. Most HOAs, though, assign the VP with responsibilities like managing grounds and buildings as well as recreational properties. The vice president can also take over other activities of the HOA and lead committees.
Treasurer
The HOA treasurer handles the association’s money and financial matters. As part of their job, the treasurer will also conduct internal controls and monitor how the funds are being handled in the HOA. In addition, they will maintain financial records, conduct regular audits of the finances, create the HOA’s annual budget and deal with the association’s taxes.
The treasurer might also be responsible for overseeing the HOAs insurance to ensure that the association has adequate insurance types - casualty, fidelity, worker’s compensation, and other necessary protections.
Duties:

· Dealing with the association’s taxes
Social Chair
The purpose of the social committee is to advise and assist the Board in creating and providing social and recreational events which are geared to the interests and needs of the community. Also, the committee helps to keep homeowners informed about their Association via the website or newsletter if required.
The primary responsibilities of the SC are to:
· Brainstorm ideas for association social events & plan events for the year in advance. All activities and budgets recommended by the Committee shall be voted on by the BOD.
· Create an annual budget with an estimated cost for each actual event.
· HOA funds can only be used for events which are all-inclusive of the community members (They may not be used for small group activities)
· Execute planned events.
· Report activities to, and work at the direction of, the HOA Board of Directors
· Welcome new homeowners to the community.
Tennis Chair
Budget and maintenance of tennis, oversight of events and bookings.
Pool Chair
Budget and maintenance of pool including management of 3rd party contracts.
Secretary
The HOA secretary handles all the documentation within the association. This might include managing all the HOAs documents, communicating with other board members and the residents, updating records, submitting forms, and managing the legal paperwork.
The secretary would also notify the board and residents of upcoming meetings and record meeting minutes.

· Notifying about board meetings and recording the minutes.
